Danielle Park, from Grand Manan, NB, was a promising young student athlete whose life was tragically cut short just weeks after her high school graduation in July 2014.
Park was a member of several BNB summer provincial teams and was planning to play for Mount Allison University that fall. Her legacy has been continued through an annual summer 3 on 3 tournament on Grand Manan, but due to COVID-19, the organizing committee has had to get creative to raise funds for the scholarship handed out in her name.

"We are so excited to try something new this summer and hope to make this competition spread across the country!!
We will be having 9 different basketball skill competitions throughout the month of August. All of which you can perform on any outside court or the rim at your house
We will have two divisions. Students and adults. Students pay $5 per challenge and adults $10. We encourage people to partake in all 9 challenges/competitions and e-transfer me the $90 or $45 upfront so you do not have to send etransfers each week; but that is up to you!
Starting August 1st I will announce challenge #1 and challenge #2. You then have until Aug. 8th to send me a video of you completing the challenge. For instance challenge #1 is how many times you can dribble behind your back consectively. If by Saturday you send me your video and you had the most dribbles for your division you win half of the money brought in from that challenge and the other half goes to the Danielle Park Memorial Scholarship . There will be so many fun challenges and we are even having a kids little tike challenge during the week of Aug 16-22nd!!
**Just to be clear every Saturday in August I will announce 2 challnges for that week and you will have one week to video yourself completing the challenges and send them to me. I will then post the winners the following Sunday and e-transfer the winner their winnings! So excited about this and please spread the word as we want to have a bunch of submissions each week **
