2021-05-07
Tyler Slipp was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He began his basketball coaching career at UNB while completing his undergraduate degree and his experience landed him full-time coaching jobs in both British Columbia and Ontario. He eventually made his way back to the Maritimes and began working for BNB in 2018.
As our Director of Operations (and king of the quick Google), you can find him looking after all of our major programs and events and even stepping back on the court to coach from time to time.
When the Celtics have a night off, who are you cheering for?
"I love watching the Seattle Storm and the 25th WNBA season is right around the corner. I also haven't missed a Buffalo Bills game or Manchester City match in years."
What's your favourite restaurant to eat at?
"If I have to pick one, it's Tokyo Ramen in Fredericton - a real hidden gem that we are lucky to have."
Do you prefer to mow the lawn or shovel the driveway? Why?
"My lawn and my driveway are both way too big... I'll go with the lawn because I have a ride-on mower."
You're going for lunch with a celebrity.. who is it and why?
"It has to be the late Anthony Bourdain. His compassion and curiosity are really missed in these complex and chaotic times."
You're in charge of dinner tonight, what's on the menu?
"I'm always in charge of dinner, and this time of year is BBQ season!"
Closest famous look alike?
"One time a lady at a magazine stand in an airport said I looked like Matt Damon and I'll take that!"
