BNB Service Awards - Up & Coming Coach Award

This week we are announcing our 2021 Service Award recipients. We are thrilled to be recognizing five individuals and one club this week - we thank all our recipients for your contributions to the basketball community!

Today we are recognizing Ben Mowat. The Up & Coming Coach Award is presented to someone who is under the age of 30 and already begun to contribute to the basketball community in a substantial way. Way to go Ben!

BEN MOWAT

Ben Mowat is a third-year finance student attending the University of Western Ontario. This past year Ben has played an integral role within the 506 Elite programs at TH Sports Group in Moncton NB. Coach Ben has the ability to foster natural connections with the athletes. He can relate to them very well and earned their respect through his knowledge of the game. His infectious smile, quick wit, and constant positive attitude make him someone 506 Elite loves to have around their facility and athletes. You can find him any day running sessions for kids from u12 to U15. He was previously an assistant coach on the Basketball New Brunswick U16 boys team and the team manager on the Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders team when they won the NBIAA AAA men’s championship in 2019.

Ben would like to thank his family and coaches throughout the years for consistently placing him in a position to succeed and is looking forward to continuing to impact the basketball community for years to come.
