Summer Program Assistant
Basketball New Brunswick is currently seeking student applications for a
Summer Program Assistant. This energetic, detail-oriented person will assist with the organization, administration and on-court delivery (through coaching) of BNB’s spring and summer programs/events.
The position runs for 14 weeks (approximately May 9 until August 12) for 35/hours per week. The time breakdown will include a mix of office hours (ex: Monday-Friday, 830am-430pm) as well as evening/weekend work on-site at programs/events. The ideal candidate will be located in Fredericton, however due to the nature of the current “virtual” work environment, consideration will be given to students in all regions of New Brunswick.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Social Media programs.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to meet workload demands – some evenings/weekends required.
- Competencies in English and French an asset.
- Strong familiarity with the sport environment, particularly in basketball.
- Experience coaching youth teams and/or summer camps.
- Minimum 1 year of university education or equivalent.
- Must be a full-time student in the 2021-2022 academic year and returning as a full-time student in September, 2022.
